Two LL.M. Programs in English
Hebrew University in Jerusalem Law Faculty invites applications for its two one-year LL.M. programs in English.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HU) is the first and leading university in Israel (ranked 53 in the world in http://www.shanghairanking.com). The Law Faculty, which has long been considered the most prestigious law school in the country and a world-reputed academic institution, is inviting applications for the 3rd Class of its International LL.M. Programs (launched in 2011). The Programs, offered in English, are dedicated, respectively, to International Law and Human Rights, and Business Law and Intellectual Property, fields in which the HU Law Faculty has long been known as an international hub of academic excellence.
LL.M. IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: The IBL/IP Program offers 25 academic courses with top legal experts from Israel, Europe and North America, including courses on international tax law, patent law, internet law, international derivatives law, international arbitration, EU law, international trade and investment, international development law, corporate crimes etc.
LL.M. IN INTERNATIONAL LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS: The IL/HR Program offers 25 academic courses with top legal experts from Israel, Europe and North America, including courses on international humanitarian law, counter-terrorism law, international courts and tribunals, transitional justice, the law of the United Nations, legal aspects of the Middle-East conflict, international criminal law etc.
PROGRAM DETAILS: The 2013-14 Faculty comprises of top academics and practitioners, including past and present members of the UN Human Rights Committee, past and present legal advisors for governments and international organizations such as the UN and the ICRC, and leading commercial lawyers from Israel and beyond. The LL.M. Faculty includes HU distinguished visiting professor Malcolm Shaw, the author of the world's leading international law textbook.
The two Programs begin in October and run through July. They are run in cooperation with the Rothberg International School creating a supportive environment, both academically and socially for foreign students. All applying students are eligible to apply for a $5,000 tuition waiver (bringing down the total cost of tuition from $16,000 to $11,000).
Both programs offer an excellent study program in a top notch university, located in an intellectually stimulating environment: the City of Jerusalem, with its long history of conflict and diversity, and the State of Israel - a Start-Up Nation confronting difficult international law and human rights challenges.
