Chapman Law Review Winter Issue

Chapman Law Review seeks articles with ties to California Topics for upcoming Winter Issue.

Chapman University School of Law: Orange, CA

The Chapman Law Review is proud to dedicate its Winter Issue to topics related to emerging legal issues in the state of California. As our state is often at the forefront of legal trends, the decisions of California courts have an impact felt nationwide. Our Winter Issue will feature California Supreme Court case digests in addition to a selection of articles and comments addressing the unique legal features of one of the most dynamic, diverse states in the union.

TOPICS: The Winter Issue is an ideal opportunity for authors to publish in an issue specifically designed to be of interest to California academics and practitioners. We welcome submissions on any topic related to California, including, but not limited to, the following:

- The unprecedented state budget crisis and its effect on the ability of state agencies to provide the services they are legally required to furnish.

- The growing support for the legalization of marijuana and the potential legal ramifications of a successful bid to change state drug laws.

- Same sex marriage and the aftermath of Proposition 8, including constitutional guarantees, the legal right to marry, and role of judicial activism.

- The immigration debate, in light of the CA Dream Act, recently approved by the CA Senate, and its potential impact nationwide.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: The Chapman Law Review will begin editorial work on the Winter Issue in mid September, and authors are encouraged to submit pieces for immediate review. Articles should be submitted to: Alexandra Harman, Submissions Editor, Chapman Law Review: chapman.law.review@gmail.com

DEADLINE: In order to be considered for publication, all submissions must be received by Friday, September 30, 2011.
