     NeXus: Chapman’s Journal of Law and Public Policy presents:
     
     "The 80th Anniversary of The Great Crash of 1929: Law, 
     Markets, and The Role of The State", Friday, October 30, 
     2009, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Chapman University 
     School of Law, Orange, California
     
     Over a five day period beginning on October 24, 1929, the 
     New York Stock Exchange fell nearly forty percent, 
     beginning a sequence of market events that ultimately led 
     to the Great Depression. In recognition of the 80th 
     anniversary of "The Crash of 1929," NeXus: Chapman's 
     Journal of Law and Public Policy is pleased to host "Law, 
     Markets, and the Role of the State," a symposium that will 
     consider the historical development of modern financial 
     markets, the role of the state, and the intersection of law 
     and market. The program will bring together a Nobel 
     Laureate in Economics, a wise Latina Congresswoman, a major 
     California gubernatorial candidate and former member of 
     Congress, and leading scholars in law, economics, 
     sociology, business, finance, political science and public 
     policy. MCLE credit available.
