                         16-17 November 2009

The Tilburg Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of
Civil Law and Conflict Resolution Systems (TISCO) announces
an interdisciplinary conference to be held at Tilburg
University, The Netherlands on the 16 and 17 of November
2009 that will feature original scholarship from various
fields on user driven approaches in dispute resolution.

     ABOUT TISCO:

TISCO's focus is on justice needs in civil law. Key to our
research are the individuals and corporations who use, are
involved with, or are influenced by the law and the civil
justice system. Taking a bottom-up approach, TISCO members
develop, integrate, and apply insights from negotiation
theory, conflict research, dispute system design,
(comparative) legal research, network theory, behavioral
law, and law and economics in their research in order to
connect and extend the body of knowledge on building,
     maintaining and (constructively) ending horizontal
relationships in which people and businesses are involved
in. For more information about TISCO please visit our
     website:

            http://www.tilburguniversity.nl/tisco/

     THE CONFERENCE:

The objective of the conference is (i) to explore and
evaluate potential for innovation in dispute resolution
processes. We want to (ii) provide (young) scholars with an
opportunity to present and discuss their work related to
dispute resolution with an interdisciplinary group of
scholars (ii) to stimulate discussion about developments in
dispute resolution in law, economics, and other
disciplines. We especially encourage submissions from
     junior scholars.
