CALL FOR PAPERS

                        WATER AS A RESOURCE
                  IMPACT UPON REAL ESTATE OWNERSHIP
                   DEVELOPMENT AND LAND USE POLICY

The Center for Real Estate Law at The John Marshall Law
School is requesting proposals for original research on the
relationship between water scarcity and ownership of real
estate in regions other than the American West.

     TOPICS:

Of particular interest is scholarship on burgeoning water
issues in the Midwest such as the Great Lakes Compact,
impact fees and land use solutions to allocating scarce
water, hydrological considerations (such as watershed
location) in the allocation of water, smart growth and
economic solutions to water allocation. Papers providing a
direct connection between these burgeoning issues and the
development, ownership and use of real estate are of
special interest. Submissions are encouraged from all
academic disciplines including, but not limited to, law,
     engineering, economics and public policy.

     FURTHER INFORMATION:

Selected authors agree to present final drafts in
publishable form by November 1, 2009, and to be available
to participate at the Kratovil Conference on Real Estate
Law & Practice: Water as a Resource: Impact upon Real
Estate Ownership, Development and Land Use Policy on
