           INAUGURAL MORGAN, LEWIS & BOCKIUS SYMPOSIUM ON
                        SECURITIES REGULATION


              SYMPOSIUM ON FINANCIAL REGULATORY REFORM:
                     GENESIS, PROGRESS AND IMPACT


                           October 10, 2009



     Villanova University School of Law announces a symposium to
     be held at Villanova on October 10, 2009 that will focus on
     the current efforts to reform the financial regulatory
     system emanating from Congress, Treasury, the SEC and
     elsewhere. Participants will discuss the origin of the
     reform movement, its progress so far, and the impact, for
     good or ill, of legislative and regulatory changes. The
     symposium will be the inaugural offering of the Morgan
     Lewis & Bockius Symposium on Securities Law, which will be
     offered annually by the School of Law.



     TOPICS:


     We invite proposals for papers to be presented at the
     Symposium and published in the Villanova Law Review.
     Of particular interest are paper proposals relating to:


     - The impetus for financial regulatory form in general and
       with respect to specific aspects
     - Reorganization of financial regulation on a functional
       basis
     - The relationship of reform of securities regulation and
       reform of banking regulation
     - The role of principles-based regulation in regulatory
       reform
     - Investment adviser regulation post-Madoff
     - The future of self-regulation in the securities and
       financial industries
     - Regulation of risk management
     - The proposed SEC-CFTC mergers
     - The political economy of the regulatory reforms


     Proposals on other relevant topics will be considered.
