CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT

                     THE EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL MEETING
                                OF THE
                 AMERICAN LAW AND ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION

                           May 16 - 17, 2008
                             New York City


      Researchers interested in law and economics and law and
      finance are invited to attend the annual meeting of the
      American Law and Economics Association. The annual meeting
      will bring together researchers from law schools, economics
      departments, business schools, and elsewhere to present and
      discuss current projects on a wide range of topics in law
      and economics and law and finance. During the meeting,
      sessions on different subjects will be held in parallel
      with the goal of enabling the presentation of a significant
      number of papers by a wide range of authors. The meeting
      this year will take place at Columbia Law School in New
      York City on May 16 and 17, 2008.


      OVERVIEW:

      The meeting this year will feature the presentation of
      about 135 papers in 45 3-paper sessions. Among the areas in
