CALL FOR PAPERS
"THE ECONOMICS AND LAW OF THE ENTREPRENEUR"
Wednesday, June 18th - Thursday, June 19th
The Searle Center on Law, Regulation, and Economic Growth
is issuing a call for original research papers to be
presented at a Research Symposium on The Economics and Law
of the Entrepreneur at Northwestern University School of
Law. The Symposium will run from 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday,
June 18th to 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 19th, 2008.
The goal of this Research Symposium is to provide a forum
where economists and legal scholars can gather together
with Northwestern's own distinguished faculty to present
and discuss high quality research relevant to the economics
and law of the entrepreneur.
PAPER SUBMISSION/REGISTRATION:

The conference is organized in cooperation with the Journal
of Economics & Management Strategy (JEMS). JEMS will
publish a special issue on the economies of the
entrepreneur. Authors can submit their work either to the
conference, or to JEMS, or to both. Authors are free to
publish their work in other venues (with appropriate
acknowledgement of the Searle Center).
Authors will receive an honorarium of $1,500 to cover
reasonable transportation expenses. The Searle Center will
make hotel reservations and pay for rooms for the night of
Thursday, June 18th. Discussants will receive an
honorarium of $500 to cover reasonable transportation
expenses. We will also provide hotel reservations for the
discussants.
The conference is organized by Professor Daniel F. Spulber,
Research Director, Searle Center Research Project on
Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Growth.
REVIEW PROCEDURE AND TIMELINE:
Conference Papers Submission Deadline: Papers for the
conference should be submitted to:

Notification Deadline: Authors will be notified of
decisions by May 1, 2008.
Honoraria will be paid to conference presenters upon
submission of a revised paper that the author is willing to
put on the Searle Center website.
