CREIGHTON LAW REVIEW SYMPOSIUM ON HUMAN RIGHTS LAW
April 2008
On April 4, 2008, Creighton Law Review is hosting a
symposium focused on Human Rights Law. The symposium will
feature keynote speaker and TePoel lecturer Kenneth Roth,
executive director of Human Rights Watch. The symposium
will also include two panel sessions addressing various
issues of domestic and international human rights law.
The First Panel has been set to address Human Rights During
Times of International Conflict. Two panelists have been
selected, but the Editorial Board is still requesting
article submissions for this panel.
TOPICS:
The topic for the Second Panel has not yet been determined.
The Editorial Board is currently requesting article
submissions addressing the following topics:
(1) Human Rights & Women
(2) Human Rights & Human Trafficking
(3) Human Rights & Economic Development
(4) Human Rights & Responsibility of Public Corporations
(5) Human Rights & Native Americans/Immigrants/Migrant
Workers
(6) Application of International Human Rights Law in the
United States
PAPER SUBMISSIONS:
The Editorial Board encourages submissions as soon as
possible. Depending on the level of interest, the Editorial
Board may extend invitations to participate on the panel on
a rolling basis. Ultimately, to receive consideration, all
submissions must be received by February 14, 2008.
The authors of articles selected for publication in
Creighton's journal will be invited to be a panelist at the
symposium on April 4, 2008 to discuss their paper in an
open forum focused on human rights law.
