Young Scholars Law Abstracts eJournal

This eJournal distributes working and accepted paper abstracts on any subject relating to law written by individuals who have been in teaching for seven years or less. Unlike other SSRN publications, the criteria for inclusion in Young Scholars Law eJournal are driven by author demographics, and not the subject area of the paper.

Young Scholars Law eJournal is only for working/accepted papers by individuals currently on the faculty of an academic institution. So, it is not for working/accepted papers by individuals in law school (whether the work is being published as a student note or otherwise), individuals currently doing a judicial clerkship, or unaffiliated individuals.

It is hoped that Young Scholars Law eJournal will provide a mechanism for senior scholars and appointments committees considering lateral candidates in a particular area to identify young/untenured scholars in those areas, and for young/untenured scholars writing in a particular area to more readily identify one another. Co-authored papers may be included in Young Scholars Law Abstracts as long as one of the authors has been involved in teaching for seven years or less. For purposes of calculating "seven years or less" of teaching, fellowships, adjunct positions, and lectureships do not count against the total.
