Research Scientist (Senior Scientist) -
Computational Social Science
Milcord is seeking a self motivated creative social
scientist to contribute to the research & development of
data and knowledge driven models for analyzing and
forecasting in Stability, Security, Transition and
Reconstruction operations.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under multiple projects in this area, you will work on
researching the state of the art, prototyping using in
house and open source decision data analytics tools,
contributing to the development of stability operations
campaign design decision aids, writing proposals, making
client presentations and publishing in peer reviewed
journals.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree in a computational discipline (e.g. Social
Sciences, Operations Research, Knowledge Management, or
equivalent), 3 years experience in modeling and simulation
of social and behavioral phenomena using real world data
(e.g. political science data sets for governance,
human rights, and economics) a must. System modeling,
statistical decision theory, and knowledge management
application design expertise required. Proven prototyping
experience, computational data modeling expertise, strong
oral and written communication skills. The position demands
a scientist with a positive and proactive attitude who can
thrive in a collaborative environment. US Citizenship or
Permanent Visa is required, no exceptions.
