     ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Finance department at VU University Amsterdam is a

different nationalities to create an international research
     environment focused on excellence.

The department participates in the school's finance
teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate

graduate school, we participate in a research master that
prepares students for a PhD. Through the Tinbergen
Institute we also closely cooperate with other top faculty
in Finance in the Netherlands, Europe, and the U.S.
primarily. The Finance seminar series at Tinbergen is one
     of the best-known in Europe.

VU University Amsterdam is located in the Amsterdam's new
financial center (the 'Zuid-As'). The department holds
strong ties with the financial industry, especially at the
level of executive teaching. Recently, the Dutch private
sector started investing in top-level academic research and
teaching via the Duisenberg School of Finance, in which our
department also participates. These new initiatives further
increase the academic atmosphere and momentum for Finance
research and teaching at VU University Amsterdam.
