ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT:
The Department of Risk Management and Insurance is one of
the oldest and most influential risk management programs in
the U.S. It has a distinguished history of serving
students, alumni, and the risk management profession.
Beginning in 2003 the Department adopted a strategic plan
to transform itself into a premier center for scholarship
and education in the valuation and management of risk
broadly defined. We have assembled a group of junior
faculty members trained in the most advanced methods for a
coordinated study of risk management problems at their most
fundamental levels. Our Masters and Ph.D. program curricula
have been revised and focus on quantitative aspects of risk
measurement and risk management. The persons selected for
these positions will play an important part in the future
development of the department by complementing our existing
faculty members from a research standpoint, through active
participation in the Ph.D. program, research seminars, and

The salary level and course load is competitive and
