Faculty Position in Finance and Economics
We invite applications for a tenure-track position in
finance and economics starting in August 2008.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in finance,
economics, or a related field. We encourage applications
from persons with a strong background and interest in
finance, and a demonstrable commitment to engage in quality
teaching and research in finance. Experienced faculty must
demonstrate superior accomplishment in, and commitment to,
quality teaching, and a track record of sustained, valid,
and meaningful published research in quality peer-reviewed
journals in finance, or, such a track record in economics,
with a demonstrable commitment to engage in similar future
research and publications in finance. Prior success in
executive education programs is desirable.
Recent Ph.D. recipients must demonstrate potential for, and
commitment to, quality teaching, and an aptitude for, and
commitment to, sustained, valid, and meaningful research
for publication in quality, peer-reviewed journals in
finance.
All candidates must demonstrate a meaningful knowledge of
current issues and trends in finance, interest in, and
ability to, keep up to date with the changing fields of
finance and economics and to grow with them, and an ability
to contribute to a cooperative relationship with a small
team of existing faculty who rely on each other to deliver
quality education to students.

ABOUT THE ATKINSON SCHOOL:
The Atkinson School is a growing, professional graduate
school within a private, liberal arts university
( http://www.willamette.edu/mba ). The School offers a
full-time day MBA program in Salem, and an evening MBA
program for working professionals in Salem and Portland.
We also provide a number of executive education programs in
several Northwest locations. The School is one of only two
in the world accredited by the AACSB (for business) and by
NASPAA (for public administration). The faculty is not
departmentalized, and faculty members value
