The Department of Finance at the University of Miami's School of Business Administration is seeking candidates for a faculty position starting in August 2016 (subject to budget approval). This is a non-tenure track position with a five-year renewable contract. Depending upon the qualifications, the initial appointment will be as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice or Research Assistant Professor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD is required in Finance or related field. Candidates must have a strong commitment to research and teaching. The normal teaching load is six courses per year. Salary and research funding are competitive.
ABOUT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Finance faculty are actively engaged in research, and in recent years, members of our department have published their research in a wide variety of journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Business, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and Management Science. Department members are also active in the editorial process of numerous journals, and have served as Associate Editors of various journals and as Editor of Financial Management. The department maintains an active seminar series and an internal brown bag series, and hosts the annual Miami Behavioral Finance Conference. In addition, the department hosted the 2013 SFS Finance Cavalcade organized by the Society for Financial Studies. We have a new but growing PhD program in Finance and we have recently established a new Neuro-finance laboratory to encourage research in the area of Neuro-finance.
