MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. or equivalent in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited college or university is preferred at time of appointment. Applicants with considerable progress toward terminal degree completion by appointment date will be considered. Completion of terminal degree is required prior to the start of the second probationary year following initial appointment.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to and/or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching as demonstrated by student evaluations;
- Ability and interest to teach courses in Accounting;
- Ability and/or interest to teach courses in Finance as a secondary field;
- Professional certification in Accounting and/or Finance;
- Ability and/or interest in teaching courses that emphasize principles of sustainable business;
- Work in the industry or related practical experience;
- Record of, or potential for, involving students in research and scholarly activities; and
- Willingness to participate in the development of online learning experiences.

PROFESSIONAL DUTIES: Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and to building a strong research record. Instructional assignments may include courses in Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, and Tax/Govt. Accounting. Instructional assignments will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department and students.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are teaching, research, scholarship and creative activity, and service to the university, profession and community. These responsibilities include advising students, participation in academic committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues and community stakeholders, and participation in traditional academic functions.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School of Business supports approximately 650 business majors and an innovative one-year MBA program. The School provides many hands-on learning opportunities such as paid internships, applied community projects, and a flipped class framework.
