Assistant Teaching Professor of Finance (Risk Management and Insurance)

Applications are invited for one non-tenure-track position starting January 1, 2014 or other date mutually agreeable. This position is in the area of risk management and insurance.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Trulaske College of Business has identified risk management and insurance as a priority initiative and the candidate hired for this position will have the responsibility for developing this area. This person will be a member of the faculty of the Department of Finance and will report to the Chair of the department. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Developing new courses in risk management and insurance to be offered both at the undergraduate and master's level
- Teaching existing and new courses in risk management and insurance
- Developing curriculum for a certificate and/or degree program concentration in risk management and insurance
- Administering these new programs in risk management and insurance
- Providing service to the department, college, and university as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- An MBA or master's degree in business or a closely related field
- Five years' experience in risk management and insurance in a managerial or decision-making role, or a Ph.D. in finance or related field with teaching or other experience in risk management
- Commitment to excellence in education
- Prior teaching experience at the college level is preferred

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Finance has a current enrollment of about 550 junior-senior finance majors for the BS in Business Administration degree. The department offers required and elective courses for the MBA program, has an active Ph.D. program, and a planned MS in finance.
