Department Chair
The department of Finance at Kent State University invites
applications for the position of department chair. This is a tenured position.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should currently hold rank of
Associate or Full professor at an AACSB accredited school. The
minimum acceptable academic credential is a Ph.D. in Finance or
equivalent. Applicants must have an established record of high
quality teaching and scholarly research in order to be qualified for
tenure upon appointment. Evidence of significant academic leadership
experience is desired. All Finance skill areas will be considered.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The normal teaching load for the chair is three
courses per calendar year. The successful candidate will be expected
to teach effectively in his or her area of specialty at all levels.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the successful leadership
skills required for a department chair and assist the department in
fulfilling its role by increasing the effectiveness of our core areas
and successful budget management.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The college of Business Administration offers BBA,
MBA, and Ph.D. programs in Finance. The Finance Department has access
to WRDS and major databases such as COMPUSTAT, CRSP and ExecuComp.
The Department also has a Bloomberg terminal. Kent State University
