Faculty Position in Energy Finance
The Economics and Finance Department in the College of Business at
the University of Wyoming is interviewing candidates for a full time,
tenure-track Distinguished Professor position in Energy Finance in
the Department of Economics and Finance and The School of Energy Resources.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department has an internationally ranked
PhD program in economics that includes a field specialization in
Financial Economics, and has three Master's programs, in Finance,
Economics, and Financial Economics. A strong commitment to both
academic research and teaching is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate is expected to be involved in the
supervision of graduate students in addition to teaching assignments
in the undergraduate and graduate Finance programs. The specific
areas of interest is energy finance with ability to teach (1) energy
project evaluation, theoretical and practical methods to evaluate
investments in energy and mineral projects, and modern techniques to
make these decisions under uncertainty; and (2) an overview of
security analysis applied to energy firms, hedging strategies, and
trading activities in energy markets. Teaching in both the Energy MBA
program and the Department of Economics and Finance. External
research grants or industry experience would be beneficial. Position
is subject to available funding.
