Faculty Position in Finance
The Finance Area in the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia
Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking candidates for
a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant, advanced
assistant, or associate professor or professor, to begin fall 2014.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: ABD candidates should complete all degree
requirements no later than July 1, 2014. Assistant professor level
applicants should exhibit promise of high quality research and
teaching. Advanced assistant, associate professor, and professor
level applicants should have a strong publication record and a
demonstrated record of high quality teaching. Highly qualified
associate and full professor applicants would be considered for
endowed professorships.
The minimum qualification is a Ph.D. in Finance. Faculty will be
required to have a teaching load of three (3 semester hours each)
courses per year, with opportunities to teach at the undergraduate,
masters and doctoral levels. The salary is competitive with leading
research universities.
ABOUT THE FINANCE GROUP: Our group is very collaborative and provides
a highly supportive environment for faculty members. The research
accomplishments of the finance faculty members are available at:
http://www.scheller.gatech.edu/finance. Georgia Tech's Scheller
College of Business is, when considering MBA programs in all business
schools, ranked in the top 25 by Bloomberg BusinessWeek.
Our undergraduate program has approximately 1,300 students. Our MBA
programs enroll about 225 students each year, while the Executive
Masters programs enroll about 100 students each year. The College's
Ph.D. program enrolls between 10 and 15 students each year and has
approximately 50 students in residence. The Finance group has 9
doctoral students in residence and enrolls between 2 and 3 students
each year. All faculty members are expected to work actively with
Ph.D. students on research projects.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS: The Scheller College of Business is
located in a state-of-the-art facility in Midtown Atlanta. In
addition to classrooms equipped with the latest technologies, we also
have two behavioral laboratories with superior capabilities. The
College recently received a transformational gift of $50 million from
an alumnus that has resulted in the renaming of the College. The
College recently built a new high-tech, $1 million trading floor to
prepare students for careers in investment banking and financial services.
