The Department of Finance in the CUHK Business School has developed a
strong reputation in teaching and research, and is widely recognized
as one of the Asia's leading finance research centres. CUHK Business
School has also received international acclaim in terms of rankings.
The Department is ranked extremely well in the widely cited global
rankings, including a ranking of 18 in the Arizona State University
(ASU) World Finance Department Research Ranking (which is based on
the number of articles published in the three leading finance
journals in 2011: Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics
and Review of Financial Studies). The Department is also ranked no.
22 in the University of Texas (UT) Dallas World Business School
Research Ranking based on contributions in the top three finance
journals from 2011 till now. In both rankings, the Department
achieved the top ranking in Hong Kong and Asia. Detailed information

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department now invites applications for
Associate Professorship(s)/Assistant Professorship(s). Qualified
scholars in all specialty areas of finance will be considered.
Individuals with expertise in investments and asset pricing,
corporate finance, and insurance/actuarial science are particularly welcome.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should (i) be promising or established
scholars with a doctoral degree (or close to completion); and (ii)
demonstrate a specialty in mainstream finance or a related field
mentioned above. The appointee will (a) teach postgraduate and
undergraduate finance courses; and (b) be expected to publish in
top-tier finance journals. Appointment(s) will normally be made on
contract basis for up to three years initially commencing August
2014, which, subject to performance and mutual agreement, may lead to
longer-term appointment or substantiation later. (CUHK Business
School is also known as The Faculty of Business Administration.)
SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFITS: Salary will be highly competitive,
commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University
