The University of Sydney Business School invites applications for an Associate Professor in Finance, full-time, continuing, remuneration package: $154K-$169K p.a. (which includes salary, leave loading and up to 17% super).

The Discipline of Finance/Business School invites applicants for the position of Associate Professor (Level D). Applicants working in any area of theoretical and/or applied finance are sought. The discipline of finance is highly regarded (ranked ninth in the world by QS World Rankings) and is highly collegial. The successful applicant will join a dynamic group teaching diverse programs in corporate finance, investments, security market microstructure, quantitative finance, financial markets and banking. The discipline has a very active and well supported research program and has achieved considerable success in external research funding. There is a large honours program and a large PhD program.

JOB DESCRIPTION: As a successful applicant you will contribute to:
- the research strengths of the school, including the pursuit of competitive research grants and regular publication in journals of high national and international standing
- the school's expanding program of professional and industry research collaboration, with a focus on the school's core research areas and existing research groups
- the effective teaching in finance, curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching methodology
- the school's engagement with professional bodies in order to develop innovative teaching programs that enhance the student learning experience and their employability
- the supervision of higher degree research students
- academic administration and service activities

JOB DESCRIPTION: To be successful as an Associate Professor (Level D) you will possess:
- a PhD in Finance or a closely related field
- an outstanding research record in finance including a national and international reputation in your research area, a significant number of publications in leading international journals, and a proven record of the ability to attract research funding
- the demonstrated ability to carry out high-quality teaching in one or more of the discipline's key areas, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including supervision of honours and postgraduate students
- expertise and an ongoing research program in one or more of the key areas of finance
- substantial administrative experience including student administration
- evidence of significant contributions and achievements to university, discipline, profession and community
- a proven track record of successful course and program development and innovation
- outstanding leadership skills and ability to foster excellence in research, teaching and policy development in the discipline
- evidence of successful teamwork and a collegial approach
- experience in honours and/or postgraduate research student supervision
