Assistant, Associate or Full Professor - Recruitment 2013-14

The Telfer School of Management of the University of Ottawa invites applications for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position commencing July 1, 2014. The areas of expertise are: Finance Ethics, Entrepreneurial Finance and Corporate Finance. Rank is Assistant, Associate or Full, Tenure-track. The language of teaching is English and/or French, depending on the individual's language proficiency.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. and an established research program are required for all tenure-track positions. Capacity to teach in the other language is an asset. Experience in the use of new technologies and classroom management software is also an asset. The chosen candidate will be asked to conduct collaborative research with colleagues from the Telfer School of Management and other institutions: the ability to work in teams is therefore expected. The candidate will also be required to actively participate on various committees.

Qualifications - Assistant:
- Ph.D. in Finance (e.g. Finance Ethics, Entrepreneurial Finance and Corporate Finance)
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a faculty member in a university
- Strong research potential, as demonstrated by having had some articles published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- Strong teaching competency at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA) levels, as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations and presentation given to faculty members and students if invited for an interview
- Strong teaching competency within research-based graduate programs (M.Sc. and/or Ph.D.), as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations, is an asset
- Fluency in French; the candidate may also be asked to teach in English

Qualifications - Associate:
- Ph.D. in Finance (e.g. Finance Ethics, Entrepreneurial Finance and Corporate Finance)
- Candidates should have reached the rank of Associate Professor in their present institution
- Strong research competency, as demonstrated by having had several articles published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- Strong teaching competency at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA) levels, as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations and presentation given to faculty members and students if invited for an interview
- Experience in graduate student supervision at the Masters and/or Ph.D. levels as evidenced by having graduated and published with, a few students
- Strong teaching competency within research-based graduate programs (M.Sc. and/or Ph.D.), as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations
- Ability to teach executive courses is an asset
- Academic leadership experience as demonstrated by having held the position of department chair or associate dean is an asset

Qualifications - Full:
- Ph.D. in Finance (e.g. Finance Ethics, Entrepreneurial Finance and Corporate Finance)
- Candidates should have reached the rank of Full Professor in their present institution
- Well established program of research, as demonstrated by having had a high number of articles published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- Strong teaching competency at the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels, as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations and presentation given to faculty members and students if invited for an interview
- Experience in graduate student supervision at the Masters and/or Ph.D. levels as evidenced by having graduated, and published with, students
- Strong teaching competency within research-based graduate programs (M.Sc. and/or Ph.D.), as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations
- Strong Executive-level teaching competency, as demonstrated by past teaching evaluations
- Academic leadership experience as demonstrated by having held the position of department chair or associate dean is an asset

A few select business schools worldwide, among them only two in Canada, have earned this international recognition.
