The Auckland Centre for Financial Research is recruiting a Post Doctoral Researcher to enhance the Centre's research capacity. The Centre has a strong focus on empirical and applied financial econometric research. It is envisaged that the successful applicant will make significant contributions to joint projects with members of the centre. In addition, it is expected that the applicant will bring forth other research projects and apply for research funding outside the university. The applicant may be involved in data collection, modelling, reviewing literature, and the writing of academic articles that are to be submitted to leading international finance journals.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant will have completed (or be near completion) of a PhD with a strong empirical focus. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong communication skills both orally and written and should be able to work well as part of a research team. The centre currently subscribes to the following main databases: Datastream, SIRCA (Thomson Reuters Tick History, etc.), Compustat, Osiris, Bankscope and has various other data subscriptions.
