W3-Professorship for Business Administration, especially Financial Intermediation
The Business School of the University of Mannheim invites applications for a professorship within the framework of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS, funded by the German Excellence Initiative). As from the fall/winter semester 2013, the following professorship is to be initially limited to a period of four years: W3-Professorship for Business Administration, especially Financial Intermediation.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The holder of the professorship shall represent the Business School in research and teaching in the area of financial intermediation. Eager participation in academic training for doctoral students within the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB), especially in the area of Finance, is expected. Moreover, the Business School requires applicants to be capable and willing to conduct the offered course program in English. Publications in journals of top international level are expected from interested candidates.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements for employment conform to S 47 Landeshochschulgesetz (LHG, state university law of the state Baden-Wuerttemberg). Applicants should have acquired a university degree, pedagogical qualification, a Ph.D. degree, and additional academic achievements which are proven by a "habilitaion" or equal academic qualification that can also be accomplished by activities outside the university.
FURTHER INFORMATION: The appointment results in the civil service status for a limited period of time if the general prerequisites in relation to public sector employment law are fulfilled.
The University of Mannheim places utmost importance on student support services. Hence, lecturers are required to be present and approachable at the University. In order to encourage the integration of university life into the regional surroundings, it is assumed that the future holder of the professorship is willing to make the Rhein-Neckar Region the center of her/his life.
