Assistant Professor

The Department of Finance at New Mexico State University (NMSU) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank - 9-month, effective Fall 2014. Associate rank will be considered based on experience and other credentials. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Applicant should have an earned doctorate in Finance (or a related field). ABDs expecting to complete their degree by August 2014 are invited to apply. Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse student, staff, and community members.
Preferred: All finance specializations will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with an interest and expertise in investments and/or financial planning.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant will have responsibilities in the areas of teaching, advising, research, and service to the department, university and community. Assigned courses may include undergraduate and graduate (master's level) finance courses. Teaching evenings and weekends, and travel to remote site locations, may be required on occasion. The position requires continued scholarly activity, including research publications in academic journals in the field.
