Postdoctoral Researcher

The Auckland Centre for Financial Research has a strong focus on empirical finance research and is currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher in finance to strengthen its research profile. In addition, the Centre is offering a doctoral student scholarship.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant will have completed (or be near completion) of a PhD in finance or related field and has very strong empirical skills in any finance-related field. It is envisaged that the successful applicant will make significant contributions to joint projects with members of the Centre that will lead to publication in top finance journals. In addition, it is expected that the applicant will bring forth other research projects and apply for external research funding. Applicants should have strong communication skills and should be able to work well as part of a research team.

PHD SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is to support doctoral students who wish to complete their PhD in the area of empirical finance/applied financial econometrics. The scholarship covers full-time student doctoral fees at AUT University for three years plus an annual stipend of NZ$25,000. Applicants are required to have a Masters Degree or Honours degree in a discipline related to Finance, Economics or Econometrics.

Key strengths are in the areas of Financial Econometrics, Empirical Corporate Finance, Banking and Financial Markets. Members of the Centre publish in leading finance journals.
