Summer Associates

For over 25 years, the Financial Strategy Group (FSG) has served as the primary corporate finance advisory resource for Citi's corporate clients. Residing in the Investment Bank, and partnering with client management teams, FSG plays a central role in developing and deepening relationships with Citi's major clients. The group's activities range from client advisory to R&D relating to new financial modeling and complex impact analytics to helping execute transactions. The group guides executives on topics such as capital structure, valuation, financial policies, capital distributions, risk management, and acquisition strategy and also regularly publishes widely distributed reports on complex corporate finance issues. FSG consists of professionals across New York, London, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Tokyo with a broad variety of professional backgrounds ranging from finance professors, credit rating and capital markets analysts, management consultants, engineers, and seasoned finance transactors.

ABOUT THE FSG SUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM: The Summer Associate program provides an opportunity to spend 10 weeks working with the Financial Strategy Group in New York on a variety of applied corporate finance projects. The program will run from June to August 2013.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We are seeking Ph.D. candidates in Finance or Financial Economics who are within 12 months of completing their dissertation. A research focus on corporate finance topics, ideally with a substantial empirical component, is strongly preferred. Candidates must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), a very high level of motivation, and a strong desire to work on real-world corporate finance problems.
