Clinical Faculty in Finance
The Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a clinical faculty position in finance.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The position involves teaching in our degree programs (BSBA, MSF, and MBA). The position also involves participation in the development of our finance students across all of our degree programs. This participation would entail, but is not limited to, the recruiting of students to our programs, curriculum design, professional development, and facilitating placement outcomes by engaging with recruiters and student mentors. The individual would be a (non-tenure-track) member of the finance faculty group and have access to all financial data and various resources available to our research faculty. Participation in research seminars and advising students on research and personal development are welcomed and encouraged, but there is no expectation of research output. This is a non tenure-track, contract position of negotiable duration. Compensation is competitive with positions in other similar settings.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Ph.D. in finance or a closely-related field (like Economics), with finance teaching experience, preferably in a business school
- Ability and willingness to teach a variety of courses, such as corporate finance, investments, derivatives, financial modeling, financial markets, financial instruments, and so on
- Ability to facilitate the development of Olin's finance students across all degree programs
- Appreciation and willingness to take the findings of academic research to classrooms in a manner that is accessible for students
- Excellent teaching skills
