Acadian Asset Management LLC is a Boston-headquartered quantitative investment management firm with wholly owned affiliates located in Singapore and London. As of September 30, 2012, the firm managed approximately US$47 billion on behalf of major pension funds, endowments, foundations, governments and other investors based in the U.S. and abroad.

We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst to join our investment team. This person will work closely with other research analysts and portfolio managers. The purpose of this role is to add significant value to client portfolios, through improving our quantitative models used for equity investing.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The job will consist of quantitative research relating to in various investment strategies. The Senior Research Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- Generating new ideas to add value to Acadian's quantitative investment process
- Articulating research results to the research team and senior management in various mediums including verbal, graphical, and written presentation
- Writing code to translate these ideas into signals
- Back-testing potential signals and investment process refinements
- Performing sophisticated statistical and economic analysis
- Research related to improving their sector, currency, country and asset allocation forecasting frameworks

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- Expertise in some area related to equity investing, whether that be accounting, finance, risk modeling and, or sector forecasting
- Deep knowledge of the academic work on return and/or volatility prediction
- Significant training in quantitative and analytic methods
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- A PhD degree in a quantitative field such as finance, economics, computer science, or statistics is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental and structural macro level trends that impact top-down investing, or bottom-up stock selection.
- Strong experience with programming languages, databases, and tools. Knowledge of Python (preferred), C/C++, Java, Ruby or similar language is essential. Additional knowledge of Matlab is helpful.
- World-class analytic skills as demonstrated by standardized test scores and problem solving abilities.
