Research Assistant in Accounting & Finance

The University of Edinburgh Business School is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant within its Accounting & Finance Group. The role will consist mostly of data processing and analysis, under the direction of academic staff, and assisting students with data-related tasks.

JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have skills in processing and analysis using appropriate software, such as Stata, EViews or SPSS, and skills in working with people and in communication. The candidate should be flexible, and willing to learn about new databases and software as requested. Ideally the candidate would have familiarity with some of the databases or platforms used in academic research in accounting and finance, such as Datastream, Thomson One Banker, or WRDS. The position does not involve designing research projects or writing research papers.
