JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyzes financial data from regulatory reports and other sources to provide FRB Dallas management, Board of Governors and the general public with an understanding of issues relating to financial institutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides research and analysis by obtaining financial data, creating and manipulating data files, and searching out other relevant information required to complete department projects.
- Uses knowledge of financial markets and institutions, including securitization, derivatives, and financial engineering principles, to provide FRB Dallas senior management with insight into issues related to financial Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of accounting, finance, economics, statistics, and banking principles to perform analysis of policy issues.
- Skills in using PC graphics, spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Must have knowledge and skill in the use of SAS and/or other programming languages to implement the mathematical functions and ratio analysis necessary to analyze financial statements and financial plans.
- Must be able to independently complete analysis of banking and other financial institutions.
- Must have excellent written communication skills in order to write articles for publications.
- Oral communication skills are also necessary to interface with external and internal customers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master' or higher degree in economics, accounting, business administration, or finance.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and data retrieval methods a plus.
- One to three years' experience as a Financial Analyst or in related position working in or with a firm involved in securitization and derivatives activities a plus.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may bbe substituted for any of the above.
By federal law, this position requires that candidates fall within one of the following citizenship categories: (1) U.S. citizen, (2) U.S. national, (3) U.S. permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization, or (4) U.S. permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so.
