Faculty Position in Finance
The Department of Finance at the University of South Florida invites applications for a faculty position in finance for appointment beginning August, 2013. Rank: associate or full professor, depending on academic experience and qualifications.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: USF stresses excellence in both research and in teaching. The successful candidate should have an outstanding research record, which is evidenced by publications in top-rated finance journals. The person selected must be able to immediately contribute to the Ph.D. program by teaching doctoral seminars, serving on dissertation committees, preparing and grading qualifying exams, and mentoring doctoral students. In addition, he or she must be able to provide quality teaching in finance courses in undergraduate and graduate programs. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in finance or economics or a DBA; evidence of ability to publish high-quality research in top peer-reviewed journals; strong commitment to teaching; and the ability to immediately contribute to the doctoral program.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: Founded in 1956, the University of South Florida is a young and vibrant university located in Tampa Bay. USF offers 89 undergraduate majors and 139 degree programs at the graduate, specialist and doctoral levels, including the doctor of medicine, to 48,000 students. The College of Business, which has approximately 5,400 students, offers an undergraduate degree with seven majors, an MBA degree, an Executive MBA, six specialized master's degrees, and a Ph.D. in business with four specializations.
