Tenure Track or Tenured Position in Real Estate

The Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies at the University of Guelph invites applications for one tenure track position in the area of Real Estate at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Responsibilities of this position can include teaching in the Department's undergraduate real estate program, academic advising, industry liaison, helping to develop graduate programs, and scholarly research.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: The University of Guelph is a top-ranked comprehensive university in Canada with a total enrollment of 18,000+. It is located in Guelph, Ontario (with a population of approximately 120,000) which is a one-hour drive west of Toronto, Ontario.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have (or be near completion of) a doctorate in Real Estate or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to those who have teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: Real estate appraisal, real estate development and/or applied project-based real estate courses. Whatever an applicant's discipline, preference will be given to those with work experience or knowledge of Canadian residential, commercial, industrial or retail real estate. Willingness to do academic advising for real estate students (or experience in this area) is also preferred.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: To ensure consideration, applications must include a letter of introduction, curriculum vitae, teaching interests, a teaching philosophy statement, a research agenda for the next three years, and a sample of recent research papers. Applicants should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent separately. Department representatives will be available at the ASSA meetings in January 2013 in San Diego to discuss this opportunity.
