The Financial Mathematics Computation Cluster (FMC2) has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of developing Asset and Risk Management in Financial Markets and the Real Economy. This position is for up to two years (with a possible extension of 6 months) and is funded by Science Foundation Ireland. It will involve working under the direction of Professor John Cotter within the Risk research theme and work packages include Asset Pricing and Risk, Risk Management of Real Estate and Pension Risk. Closing Date: 16th of November, 2012. Post Duration: 2 years (possibility of extension for six months)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have a background in Economics or Finance and will be expected to have experience in one or more of the work packages outlined above.
ABOUT FMC2: FMC2 is a research collaboration between Industry, University College Dublin, Dublin City University, and NUI Maynooth, which brings together complementary expertise in financial mathematics, financial economics and computer science to create a multi-disciplinary research programme in asset and risk management, areas of critical importance to the future development of the international financial services sector in Ireland. Launched in September 2009, FMC2 is part of the Science Foundation Ireland Strategic Research Cluster (SRC) programme.
JOB DESCRIPTION: This is an academic research role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching. The successful applicant will be appointed at either Postdoctoral Research Fellow level 1, 2 or Research Fellow depending on qualifications and experience.
SALARY: Euro 33,975 - Euro 68,817 per annum
