Tenure-Track, Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance

The Department of Accounting and Finance at University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions in finance, either at the Assistant or the Associate level, beginning September 1, 2013. Candidates in all areas of interest are encouraged to apply, but especially those in the fields of applied Financial Econometrics and Quantitative Analysis, with special emphasis on analyzing financial market data, including Micro/Macro aspects of financial markets and instruments. Successful candidates are expected to teach and supervise doctoral students in a newly launched PhD program. Prior experience in teaching doctoral students and involvement in doctoral programs will be valuable.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD in Finance or other related disciplines is required (ABDs nearing completion considered as long as degree completed no later than August 2013). For applicants with prior appropriate experience a tenured position would be a consideration.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department is part of the AACSB-accredited College of Management, which offers two bachelor and five masters degrees; a Doctor in Business Administration Program started in Fall 2012, with a track in Finance currently scheduled to begin Fall 2014. Total enrollment in the College has grown rapidly to about 2600 students. Among other Business Centers, the College has established a Financial Services Forum which is a source of current information and commentary on the health and critical issues facing the financial services industry in Boston and nationally. The College of Management is increasingly interested in the complex roles business plays in an increasingly transnational society.
