Positions in Empirical Finance/Applied Financial Econometrics

The Auckland Centre for Financial Research currently has a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher in empirical finance/applied financial econometrics. In addition, it offers a scholarship for a doctoral student to complete a PhD in the same areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant will have completed (or be near completion) of a PhD with a strong focus on empirical finance/applied financial econometrics. It is envisaged that the successful applicant will make significant contributions to joint projects with members of the Centre. In addition, it is expected that the applicant will bring forth other research projects and apply for external research funding. It is preferred that the applicant has strong econometric software/programming skills. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong communication skills both orally and written and should be able to work well as part of a research team.

PHD SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is to support a doctoral student who wishes to complete a PhD in the area of empirical finance/applied financial econometrics. The scholarship covers full-time student doctoral fees at AUT University for three years plus an annual stipend of $25,000. Applicants are required to have a Masters Degree or Honours degree with second class division one or better in a discipline related to Finance, Economics or Econometrics.
