Visiting Position
The School of Finance at Soongsil University, located in Seoul, Korea, is seeking to fill a visiting position, the date of employment inception being either March or September 2012. This position could be arranged either for one semester or one year.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We invite applications from qualified persons who have research and teaching interests in Finance area in general. Priority will be given to those with a good research and teaching record at the senior level, although consideration will also be given to the junior level. Foreign applicants whose mother tongue is English should be given high priority. The teaching load will be two courses (six credit hours) per semester. Salary and benefits are negotiable on the basis of the applicant's qualification and credits and should be competitive by Korean standards. Housing will be provided if necessary.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: Soongsil University, the first university in Korea, was established in 1897 in Pyeongyang, the capital city of North Korea. This was long before the Korean Peninsula got divided into two regions, South and North. In 1954 after the Korean War, the university re-opened at the current location, being very close (15 minutes by car) to Yeoui-do which is an island in the Han River recently designated as a 'financial hub center' by the government. The university serves student population of about 15,000. The School of Finance began its undergraduate program in March 2010 as a strategic means of university development program, and will become a full-fledged program with about 240 students by March 2013.
