     The University of Luxembourg is a multilingual,

     Luxembourg has an opening in its Faculty of Law, Economics
     and Finance for 1 Junior Researcher/PhD student in
     Finance (M/F), with a specialization in empirical finance
     Ref: F2-080016 (to be mentioned in all correspondence) 2-
     year fixed-term contract, 40h/week, renewable once.
     Employee AND student status.



     JOB DESCRIPTION:


     The assistant will be working within the Luxembourg School
     of Finance (LSF). The core objective of the LSF is to be an
     academic leader in the creation and dissemination of an
     integrated body of knowledge in banking and finance. In
     order to fulfill its mission, LSF places a high priority on
     research. A permanent research program in the areas of
     asset and risk management, fund industry, behavioural
     finance, law and finance, and quantitive finance has been
     set up. The successful candidate will be integrated in a
     young, strongly research oriented team and is expected to
     contribute to research projects in the area of empirical
     finance.

     TASKS:


     - Prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of empirical
       Finance. The thesis has to be prepared at the University
       of Luxembourg, but can be part of a joint supervision
       with another university
     - Contribute to the research within the Luxembourg School
       of Finance
     - Contribute to the teaching at the rate of one or three
       hours per week of small group teaching and tutorials



     JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


     - Master's degree in finance or econometrics with a strong
       foundation in quantitative methods
     - Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual
       environment: fluency in either English or French, good
       understanding of the second language and possibly a third
       language, German in particular, will be considered an
       advantage



     OFFER:


     - Personal work space at the University (full-time contract
       requires the assistant to work on the University
       premises).
