                            Economist



     The Financial Research Division of the ECB is interested
     in hiring experienced or newly qualified PhDs in
     economics or finance.



     JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


     Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and
     publish high-quality research mainly in the field of
     financial stability, in particular on the theoretical and
     empirical underpinnings of systemic risk, macro-prudential
     supervision and regulation. The Division also conducts
     research on, inter alia, financial institutions, financial
     markets, international capital flows, and payment and
     securities settlement systems.


     Economists also contribute to other responsibilities of the
     Division, in particular using their research results for
     advising on policy in collaboration with the competent
     policy areas of the ECB. More experienced candidates will
     be expected to also support, from a research perspective,
     the development of operational and conceptual frameworks
     for macro-prudential supervision. One of the positions may
     be commensurate to the level of associate professor in
     academia.
