Faculty Positions in Finance
The Department of Finance at the Rotterdam School of
Management, Erasmus University invites applications for
faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor
level in all areas of Finance with a starting date of
September 2010.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicants are expected to demonstrate
excellence in research and in teaching at the
undergraduate, MBA and/or Ph.D. levels. Candidates for
tenured positions should have a Ph.D. and a record of
outstanding achievement, evidenced in part by publications
in top journals. Candidates for Assistant Professor
positions should have a Ph.D., or expect to complete a
Ph.D. in the near future, and should demonstrate the
potential for outstanding achievement in research and
teaching.

The Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University is
consistently ranked among Europe's top 10 business schools
(by, among others, The Financial Times and SSRN). With 250
senior researchers and 100 Ph.D. students, the School has
one of the world's largest and most cited business school
faculties.
The Department of Finance at RSM Erasmus University has a
large and highly international group of faculty interested
in all areas of Finance. Our strong research tradition is
reflected in the extensive research support by the Erasmus
Research Institute of Management (ERIM). The Department
runs an active seminar series with speakers from top
international academic institutions. Assistant Professor
appointments involve six-year tenure-track positions. The
teaching load is moderate. Applicants are expected to teach
in English.

RSM Erasmus University has modern facilities, including
access to most major databases (WRDS, CRSP, Compustat,
Datastream, I/B/E/S, Thomson One Banker, etc.) and a brand
new building with great views of the city of Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is a pleasant and lively harbor city with 600,000
inhabitants, located in the west of the Netherlands. Air,
road, or railway connections with major European and U.S.
cities are excellent. The compensation package is
competitive relative to European salaries. Favorable tax
agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
