Financial Economist/Senior Financial Economist
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking an entry-level
or a senior-level economist. There is a preference for
candidates interested in one or more of the following areas:
financial institutions, financial markets and products, risk
management and banking. Individuals are expected to have
demonstrated empirical interests, together with a solid
background in statistics, econometrics, and/or computational
methods. However, all qualified applicants will be

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The open position is in the Risk and Policy Analysis Unit
(formerly known as the Quantitative Analysis Unit) of the
Bank Supervision Department. Primary responsibilities
include producing policy-oriented research for publication
in refereed journals, advising senior management on policy
issues related to the regulation of financial institutions
and financial markets, and participating in risk assessments
and supervision at large financial institutions. The job
also involves a considerable amount of travel.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements include a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a
related field; demonstrated research capability; and strong
written and oral communication skills. Senior-level
candidates should have a significant amount of relevant
industry experience and/or an established research record as
demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Salary and level of position will be commensurate with
background and experience. Due to hiring restrictions, we
