      The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne
      (EPFL) is a leading European Research University and a
      growing, dynamic, well-funded public institution of higher
      education with a focus on engineering, computer science &
      communications, basic and life sciences.

      EPFL is launching an international search for the Dean of
      its College of Management (CdM) to take office by the end
      of 2008. CdM is currently active in 3 areas: management of
      technology, logistics, and financial engineering. The
      College teams up with other EPFL Schools to foster
      education at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels as
      well as transdisciplinary research. It interacts closely
      with the IMD Business School and the University of Lausanne
      Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC). CdM aims for its
      students to have a high-level engineering and/or science
      background and to involve them in cutting-edge research so
      as to train the most innovative and creative business and
      financial leaders of tomorrow.


      JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:

      The successful candidate will lead the strategic
      development of the College, its substantial growth over
      the next 4 years, and the strengthening of its academic
      presence through new hiring and research program
      development.

      The Dean will report directly to the President of EPFL. The
      ideal candidate has an outstanding academic record in one
      of the 3 areas above, as well as proven leadership,
      fundraising and negotiating skills, knowledge transfer and
      management abilities.
