Financial Economist and Forecaster
The Abu Dhabi Investment Company (ADIC) invites
applications for a Financial Economist and Forecaster
reporting to the Sr. Vice-president - Risk Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement and run multiperiod non-linear
optimisation models for strategic asset allocation and
economic capital determination.
- Design, implement and run state dependent multivariate
forecasting models for the company asset classes returns.
- Develop and implement a number of quantitative financial
models supporting the risk management activities e.g.
econometric factor risk models, Monte Carlo simulations
for the company's and subsidiaries assets value, and
relative to benchmark optimisation programs for tactical
portfolio management.
- Analyse and report risk statistics of the companies
holdings in alternative and non alternative investment
funds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. graduate or candidate in finance, economics,
statistics, mathematics, or econometrics.
Competencies:
- A very solid background in finance and econometrics is
essential. In particular, strong academic and hands on
experience in non linear optimisation techniques for
asset management, non linear state space financial
modelling and advanced financial time series modelling is
required.
- Advanced ability to use Windows-based applications
(including VBA programming) and a thorough knowledge of
Matlab, Eviews or similar mathematical and econometric
packages is necessary.
- Excellent English report writing and communication skills
are essential.
- Ability to work on his/her own initiative and in a
largely autonomous way.
