CALL FOR PAPERS
FONDATION BANQUE DE FRANCE
ACADEMIC RESEARCH PROJECTS SOLICITED IN THE FIELD
OF MONEY, FINANCE AND BANKING
Fondation Banque de France pour la recherche is pleased to
announce its new call for proposals. The objective is to
solicit academic research projects conducive to topical
papers in the field of Money, Finance and Banking. The
researchers will be asked to acknowledge Fondation Banque
de France and to present their work at a conference
organized by Fondation Banque de France.
The total amount earmarked for the call is 150,000 euros.
Up to five grants will be awarded for proposals that may
take one year through eighteen months. We would be very
pleased if you or other researchers in your team would
consider participating in our program.
TOPICS:
Topics of interest include - but are not limited to -
policy-relevant work on Money, Finance and Banking such as:
Monetary Policy & Prices
- Monetary policy under imperfect knowledge
- Monetary policy and financial system stability
- Monetary policy and globalization
Financial Stability
- Financial market disruptions
- Interbank and other financial linkages
- Bank competition and regulation
International Macro and Globalization
- Financial integration
- Global imbalances
- Macroeconomic policies and growth
PROPOSAL DETAILS:
Projects should aim to produce a single paper suitable for
submission to a major journal. The Foundation's Scientific
Committee and the Board will pre-select up to ten projects
by mid-February 2008. The selected proposals will have an
additional three-month period before being presented at an
internal meeting attended by the Scientific Committee in
May 2008 (possibly using video conference). Results will
be announced in July 2008.
The above-mentioned pre-selection by the Scientific
Committee is based on the following criteria, receiving
equal weight on a 1-3 scale.
1. Is the research agenda clear?
2. Is it policy-relevant?
3. Is it realistically feasible?
4. Is it innovative? (e.g., through use of European data)
5. Is it an international joint venture? (Mixed teams
involving French researchers will get maximum grade)
6. What are the team's credentials with regard to the
subject proposed?
