Academy of Financial Services, 27th Annual Meeting

October 17 - 18, 2013, Chicago, IL

The Academy of Financial Services will hold its annual meeting in Chicago, IL on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 at the Courtyard Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile. Note that the Financial Management Association's annual meeting will also be held in Chicago, running from October 16 through October 19. The AFS conference will feature speakers, symposia, several special sessions and reception. The academy has, in recent meetings and with the generous support of our sponsors, awarded several best papers awards including best student paper awards. Furthermore, selected papers will be considered for an expedited review for publication in Financial Services Review.

Due to popular demand, the Paper Submission Deadline has been extended to May 1, 2013!

SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Research papers and abstracts covering all aspects of individual financial management and education are sought for inclusion in the program. Papers in the areas of estate planning, insurance, tax accounting aspects of financial planning, investments, and retirement planning are encouraged. Proposals for panel discussions and tutorials devoted to current issues in individual financial management or the practice of financial planning will also be considered for inclusion in the program. Each submission will be reviewed anonymously by at least two members of the Program Committee, and authors will be notified of the decision no later than May 31, 2013. Papers already accepted for publication in a refereed journal should not be submitted. There is no submission fee.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Please email your submission to William Chittenden, VP-Program: chittenden@txstate.edu in either PDF or Word (doc or docx) format. The cover page of the abstract or paper should contain the names and addresses of all authors and also denote one of the authors as the contact person. The names and affiliations of the authors should not appear on the paper itself.

AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES: All accepted papers must have at least one author register for the conference on or before August 31, 2013. As a courtesy to other authors, presenters of accepted papers should expect to serve as discussants or session chairs.
