2013 Asian Finance Association (Asian FA) Annual Meeting

The Asian Finance Association (Asian FA) invites submission of research papers in finance to the Association's 2013 annual conference. The conference will be hosted by the Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) during July 15 - 17, 2013. The conference provides an open platform for finance scholars worldwide to present their recent research and exchange ideas and information on new developments in finance research. We are planning a high-quality and competitive conference. The majority of the sessions will include papers selected through open competition. The papers will be double blind-reviewed by a committee of established researchers. In addition there will be several invited sessions where leading researchers in different areas will be invited to present their latest work. There will also be several junior faculty workshops where junior faculty from different institutions will have an opportunity to present their work and senior researchers will be assigned to discuss such work.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
- Professor Franklin Allen, University of Pennsylvania
- Professor Jiang Wang, MIT

The two keynote speakers have also offered to serve as Program Advisors. In that capacity they will help and advise the Program Co-Chairs regarding the overall composition and direction of the conference program. Besides the two keynote speakers, we expect a number of scholars of international standing to participate in the invited sessions.

TOPICS: The theme of the conference is China's role in global finance. Papers in all areas of finance are welcome, including corporate finance, asset pricing, market microstructure, behavioral finance, financial institutions, financial crisis, international finance, and emerging capital markets. Accepted papers are eligible for several categories of best paper awards. The awards in each category will be decided on by an Awards Committee specially constituted for the purpose. Some best paper awards are listed as follows:

Sirca Prize ($AUD5,000): awarded to the best paper in any area of finance or accounting research that uses data supplied by Sirca Limited as one of the sources of information in the paper. Two Pacific-Basin Finance Journal Research Excellence Awards (US$2,000 each): awarded to the best paper that focuses on the Asia-Pacific financial market(s) under the condition that the paper be published in the Journal. JUFE Best Paper Award (US$1,000): awarded to the best paper in any area of finance or accounting research. This prize is sponsored by Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.

Best Paper Award on Chinese Capital Markets (US$1,000): awarded to the best paper that focuses on Chinese Capital Markets. This prize is sponsored by International Institute for Financial Studies, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.

ANU Best Paper Award (US$1,000): awarded to the best paper in any area of finance or accounting research. This prize is sponsored by Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Applied Statistics, Australian National University.

Regular Registration: US$ 350 until May 31, 2013
Late Registration: US$ 400 after May 31, 2013

Paper status: only completed papers will be considered

Submission format: a blind copy of the manuscript and a separate file for the cover page containing the paper title, the abstract and author information. PDF or MS-Word version only.

ABOUT NANCHANG: Nanchang is a historical city, dating back to over 2,200 years. It is the capital city as well as the political, economic and cultural center of Jiangxi Province. Several lakes and rivers in or around bring a special charm to the city. Other natural attractions around Nanchang include Lushan National Park and Poyang Lake in Jiujiang City, Dragon and Tiger Mountain (Long Hu Shan), and Mount Jinggang in Ji'an City. Being a historical city, Nanchang offers several famous historical sites to the visitors.

Nanchang International Airport is 26 kilometers north of the city. It is about an hour by air from Shanghai. It is also well-connected to major mainland cities such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Haikou, and Beijing, and offers international connections to Hong Kong and Taipei.
