Seventh Annual Risk Management Conference - Risk Management in the New Normal
11 - 12 July 2013, Singapore, Risk Management Institute, National University of Singapore
The Risk Management Institute (RMI) at the National University of Singapore invites submissions for its 7th annual conference on risk management in Singapore on 11 and 12 July 2013. We are pleased to announce that financial assistance of up to US$800 for airfare, 3 nights of hotel accommodation and a small honorarium to defray incidental expenses will be provided to all presenters at RMC2013.
OVERVIEW: This international conference will provide a platform for policy makers, regulators, industry executives, and researchers from academia and industry to discuss recent theoretical developments, analytical techniques and empirical findings on issues related to risk management in the financial sector. The conference is composed of a policy forum (one day) and a scientific program (one day).
Policy forum (11 July): This one-day forum aims to provide a platform for invited speakers and panellists from industry, regulatory agencies and academia, who are experts in the field of financial risk management to share their insights on issues of interest to the risk management community.
Scientific program (12 July): The scientific program will follow the format of an academic conference. It will consist of submitted papers on the theme of financial risk management, to be reviewed and selected by an international panel of experts. Submitted papers must represent original and unpublished research.
TOPICS: Concurrent sessions will be devoted to the dissemination of scientific findings. Suggested topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Impact of regulation on financial markets and practice
- Understanding and modeling systemic risk
- Corporate risk management theory and practice
- Operational, market and credit risks modelling
- Liquidity risks and their implications
- Risk Management of alternative investments
- Derivative pricing models and empirical studies
- Structured products design and analysis
- Optimization and computational tools for risk management
- Statistical and econometric techniques for financial problems
To complement RMI's non-profit credit rating initiative (http://www.rmicri.org), research papers on credit risk are particularly welcome. The scientific program will also feature two or three invited plenary talks.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Submissions may be made via the conference website (http://www.rmi.nus.edu.sg/rmcsubmit) or through email to Ms Chris Long (chris.long@nus.edu.sg). The submission deadline is 15 March 2013. The authors will be notified of the review committee's decision by 1 May 2013.
CONFERENCE FEE AND HOTEL ACCOMMODATION: The conference registration fee will be waived for all presenters and discussants. The organizers will also provide presenters airfare assistance of up to US$800 and hotel accommodation for up to 3 nights as well as a small honorarium to defray incidental expenses.
