Queen Mary University of London - PhD in Finance Programme

Applications for the PhD in Finance programme are now invited for entry in September 2013. The PhD in Finance programme is housed within the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary, part of the University of London. The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary is one of the leading research departments in the UK, and was ranked sixth in the nationwide 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME: The PhD in Finance programme is a full-time, four-year programme which aims to produce top quality researchers who can go on to successful careers in academia, policy institutions or the financial industry. The first year of the programme is primarily focussed on advanced coursework.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicants are expected to have a strong quantitative background with solid coursework in both mathematics and mathematical statistics. An (expected) MSc degree from a good programme in finance, economics or a related subject is also generally a requirement.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School offers very competitive full financing for all admitted candidates. Fully funded teaching assistant positions involve a manageable teaching allocation of classes in the School's undergraduate programmes. The School also offers research scholarships funded by the ESRC through the Queen Mary-Goldsmiths joint doctoral training centre (details at http://www.londonsocialscience.org.uk/studentship.html).
