BOOK'S DESCRIPTION: In the past few decades, emerging market finance has become the focus of sustained research in financial economics literature. Although there is a large body of works published in the field, additional research is still needed to gauge the underlying dynamics of emerging markets as well as the way in which they affect and they are affected by developed and frontier emerging markets. The more we learn about financial markets in developed countries, the more challenging and mysterious emerging markets remain for both researchers and practitioners. This edited book aims to provide new insights about emerging market finance with focus on market linkages, valuations and risk management. We admittedly use the S&P's and MSCI classifications of emerging markets. The following topics are particularly welcome:

Valuation issues: Financial market and institutional (in)efficiency; asset pricing in intermediate market structures; impacts of liberalization on market return and volatility; behavioral finance and portfolio theory; microstructure and trading rules in less than-ideal environments; cost of capital in emerging markets; determinants of saving and investment.

Risk management issues: risk measurement and management; exchange rate volatility and firm-level exposures; sovereign risks; financial effects of political and social risks; liquidity risk; credit and financial risks to banking and insurance sectors.

Market linkages: stock market comovement; market integration; 2007-2009 global financial crisis and contagion effects; cross-border investments;

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Prospective contributors are invited to submit, before December 15, 2012, a 2-4 page chapter proposal (including a title, an abstract, a tentative outline, and a short biography of the authors), clearly explaining the purpose, scope and contents of their proposed chapters (submission of full chapters at this stage is welcome).
